Unhappy Just Want to Dance

So... I havent really done any professional exotic dancing yet, but I have a few really close friends who are dancers and I go to the stip club all the time, I have a pole of my own and practice on it all the time... So I hate HATE HATE my current job, I cant do it anymore, it's so boring! So naturally my thoughts go to wanting to dance. I know how it works, I already know i'm a good dancer, I'm not like WOW beautiful, but I'm pretty... I know I could do it and would be good at it... Here's the problem, my husband doesnt want me to. I've tried explaining how its no big deal and how he's the one I married and sleep with, but no... Well, actually he goes back and forth. One minute he says "just try it and we will see how it goes", other times he says "you can only do amatuer nights", and then other times its flat out "no"....
What should I do? Should I not tell him and do day shifts while he's at work? Got any ideas of how I can convince him? I expected him to think "wow this is funny and kinda hot, guys drool over her she gets their money and comes home to me at night" ... that's how i expected him to react, but he didnt. He thinks it will strain our marriage and cause a lot of problems. Anyone married and dancing? What does your husband think? Give me advice please!

Hi JustWannaDance. I'm not really responding because I have any particular knowledge about dancing as I am a guy. However, since you seem to be one of the more active members I thought I'd say hi. So... hi! I actually came to the forum because I had a question about my first strip club experience. You can read it under General Chat, called "Stripper's Remorse" if you're interested.

Anyway, I would imagine that some of the more major clubs have an "open poll night" or something of that effect. You could go that route. Try to start out small if you can. Regardless of how badly you want to do it, getting up in front of a room of people might be quite a shock. You also might want to try actually attending a club yourself and just take in the experience. It would give you a better feel for how things work and you could talk to a dancer. Who knows, if its a slow night the owner might be like "what the heck, go ahead up"!

Regarding your husband's feelings on the matter; to be honest this will most likely continue to be a sticking point. He doesn't want you to do it. Him telling you NO, compounded with your desire to do it, will probably drive you apart to some breaking point because of resentment. It wouldn't be fair to give him an ultimatum because, as far as he knew, he didn't marry a stripper. Ultimately, it comes down to how bad do you want it? Are you willing to give up your relationship for it? If so, then by all means, do it!

Since you're already married this will be tough because if you start dancing it could really put a rift in the relationship.

Why don't you try and work only one or two days and see how it goes. You can surely make a weeks worth of pay in just a couple of nights. If it doesn't work take a break. Then go back to it when things calm down.

Technically it's not cheating and if you need money you should be able to do what you need to do to bring in some funds. If not why not make arrangements to just take a break from working. Keep in mind if he wants a break you'll probably end up having to dance and he'll be all over that.
